I’m Diana (she/her), a seasoned and passionate product designer currently helping sellers pay their vendors at Square.
Having a holistic understanding of UX, visual design, research, and discovery methods, I’m an enthusiastic collaborator who helps build product that drives value. With a strong multi-platform B2C and B2B design background, I ensure high-quality implementation and continuously think of opportunities beyond outcomes. At Square, I am the design DRI for Square Bill Pay, a standalone AP solution powering B2B payments. Additionally, I am proudly Latinx in tech.
A brief rundown of my recent career history:
As the core designer at Square Bill Pay, I advocate for seller needs and intuitive solutions aimed at streamlining the AP process of paying business expenses. Since the launch of Square Bill Pay in February 2023, I’ve strategically focused on experience and funnel improvements, big rock features, as well as acquisition and retention initiatives. By paying with Square Checking or any debit/credit card, Square sellers can effortlessly schedule ACH or check payments all from the platform that they manage their business. My role as a directly responsible individual involves not only spearheading pivotal design projects, but also leading discovery, helping my partners craft our roadmap, providing PMM input, and helping cross-functional partners when possible.
Projects include:
⦁ An email forwarding experience which allows sellers to simply forward their bills from their email account to Square Bill Pay.
⦁ The incorporation of spend categorization, allowing sellers to categorize their bills and manage their spend.
⦁ The addition of paper check as a payment delivery method.
⦁ Numerous polish work aimed at funnel improvements
⦁ Advocacy for acquisition opportunities across Square’s ecosystem.
Designing for multiple devices, Square Bill Pay is available via Square’s Dashboard, Square’s Invoices app, and multiple POS apps as an add-on.
At Flyhomes, I wore many hats and worked on both the customer-facing homebuying squad, as well as the internal tools squad. Working on the Flyhomes app and site, I focused on our search experience and home tour booking experience. For our internal users, I worked with a cross functional team to redefine the tour request process in our internal platform and automating it using a workflow.
In my spare time, I taught over 100 students at UCLA Extension. I wrote all curriculum for my UX II Iteration course and was named a Distinguished Educator in the UCLA Visual Design Department in 2020.
At this social media startup, I worked closely with our CPO (ex-Reddit), to design a proof of concept app for groups and communities. Focused on community safety and inclusivity, I drove our user research, onboarding experience (including extensive research work surrounding pronoun selection), group creation flow, chat and post experience, and moderator tools.
At Vetted, I helped bring veterinarians to pet owners’ doors.
Focusing on increasing conversion and elevating our mobile experiences, I redesigned Vetted’s booking flow and patient dashboard. With a redesigned booking flow, this work helped to reduce rescheduled appointments and support calls. Additionally, I worked on a telemedicine proof of concept.
As Heal’s lead designer, I worked on experiences that brought a doctor to patients’ homes and made healthcare more accessible. Highlights include working on patient health monitoring using third-party devices in addition to the first Apple HealthKit and Health Records integration. Primary care doctor selection and iterative improvements to our booking flow. In 2017, we were highlighted as the app of the day in the App Store.
Working at a boutique UX agency, I worked with clients including Cisco Metacloud/Metapod on their cloud management system. I worked to maintain the UI library as well as net new features.
